Remember the internet browser that used to dominate the browser market until Microsoft come along with their Internet Explorer? Netscape was revived by AOL in 2005 but there has been a lack of development on the browser until now, where AOL will be releasing version 9.0 of Netscape soon.

Netscape 9.0 will be built on Firefox code base, thus making it highly possible for most existing extensions for Firefox to be compatible with Netscape 9.0. With such archietecture, Netscape users will be able to immedietely access Firefox existing extensions without the need to wait for the authors to update their software.

Netscape 9.0 will be a cross-platform browser, compatible with Windows, MacOS X and Linus.
