HijackThis is a great utility that run through your registry and running processes to find unsafe registry settings and rogue processes . To use the tool, first download it from TrendMicro. Download the executable would be fine unless you want to have it installed in your system.
To use HijackThis, execute the executable you have just downloaded and accept the licensing agreement. Select Do a system scan and save a logfile. HijackThis will then scan your system and open the logfile. This process should be rather fast. Lastly, copy the contents and post it to whoever is helping you to troubleshoot your system.

Some dude has managed to get hold of an early beta of the Windows Mobile 6.5, installed on a rather old Windows Mobile device. I have no idea if the video was shot delibrately in a not so viewable manner or he just have a very jerky hands. Nonetheless, some new features can be seen inaction (if you look real hard) and Internet Explorer Mobile 8 has finally been revealed.
The result of a viral infection, causes the Open With dialog to appear when you attempt to open a drive in My Computer, instead of the usual Windows Explorer.
There are various fixes (that may or may not work) and some workarounds until you can fix the problems.
Workaround 1
Click on Start then Run. Type in the drive letter (e.g. C:) and hit Ok.
Workaround 2
Right click on the drive in My Computer and select Explore.
Fix 1
- Click on Start, then Run.
- Type regedit and click Ok.
- Click on Edit on the toolbar and select Find.
- Type mountpoints2 in the search box and click on Find Next.
- Expand mountpoints2 folder and delete drive letter or the network path with the Open With problem.
- Close regedit.
Fix 2
- Download FixDrive and save it anywhere you want.
- Extract FixDrive.exe and execute it (or you can run it directly from the xip file).
- Select the drive letter with the problem and click Fix.

It was only 2 years since Vista got RTM, now I am getting my hands dirty with Windows 7 already. While build 6803 may not be anywhere near the actual product, it has already shown us some of the (huge) changes that has been made after Vista.
Installation of Windows 7 is almost identical to Vista. First you select the language, agree to the UCLA, select the disk to install Windows 7 and the installation begins.
No detailed walkthrough will be mentioned. I will be posting screenshots follow by screenshots and maybe more screenshots.

Most likely due to VBScript.dll not being registered. To fix it, simply
- Go to Start, Run.
- Type regsvr32 VBScript.dll.
- Click on OK.
When you see DllRegisterServer in VBScript Succeeded, you are done.
When you open the user account applet, you get a blank screen like the following
To resolve the problem, do the following
- Click on Start, Run.
- Type regsvr32 jscript.dll and click Ok.
