No more 32-bit Operating System, according to Microsoft during the Windows Hardware Engineering Conference. After Vista and Server 2008, the next generation client and server OSes will run only on 64-bit processor. Meaning 32-bit computing might soon be put into history.

Windows Server Codename ‘Longhorn’ named Windows Server 2008?

Its only less than two weeks after my post that shows the possible name for Longhorn server, there are now some other hints that shows that the new server might be named Windows Server 2008. After attending the TechNet seminar held today at Microsoft Singapore, a MVP had hinted that the new name is already an open secret in the MVP world. Furthur, there’s proof to support this.

The next generation of Windows Server, Code Name “Longhorn” Beta 3 is now available to the general public. The beta 3 release comes in 3 editions, Standard, Enterprise and Data Center. Each editions furthur comes in x64 and x86 versions and are available in English, German and Japanese.
